Generational Differences

Today, the workforce is made up of four distinct generations of employees – Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen Xers and Gen Ys. Each generation possesses different values, behaviours and expectations which can often lead to conflict between team members, reduced productivity, and a lack of engagement. In order for team members to work effectively together, they have to understand their own identities, and respect those of others.
This interactive e-learning course raises awareness and encourages learners to maximize the skills sets of all four generations, while fostering the differences through the following:
- Reveal the life-defining events that have shaped each generation’s identity leading to unique generational attitudes, behaviours and expectations.
- Learn the behavioural characteristics of each generation that promote loyalty and work ethics.
- Provide insight into the different generational perspectives by watching real and animated members of each generation interact in work-like situations.
- Introduce “Five Tips for Effective Team Collaboration” to help learners work more effectively with colleagues, within a multigenerational team.
- Supply a printable job aid to help transfer the learning back to the job.
