SHIFT Wins Silver Brandon Hall Learning Technology Awards
SHIFT, our rapid eLearning authoring tool, has won three coveted Brandon Hall Silver awards for technology excellence in the Rich Media, Rapid Authoring and Evaluation or Testing categories.
SHIFT changes the models of eLearning development. SHIFT allows the development of a rich, interactive and engaging learning experience with no need for advanced technical skills. It’s a one-stop solution for instructional design, media recording, media editing, immersive scenarios and simulations, testing, collaboration and workflow management, all integrated into one cloud-based environment. All processes integrated and managed within the system, including media management, work assignments, reviewing, project documentation and even RFQ’s for outsourcing from external third party vendors. SHIFT’s database driven architecture also makes content reutilization, localization and subsequent changes simple.
“We firmly believe that we have created an authoring environment that changes the way eLearning is done. SHIFT is opening up markets for thousands of organizations and individuals that considered eLearning development either too complex or too costly. One single development environment that can produce rich media courses with the resource investment of rapid development” said Randolf Kissling, CEO of Aura Interactiva, the developers of SHIFT.
The Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Technology Awards are presented by Brandon Hall Group, a leading research firm in training and development. The Learning Technology Awards program showcases innovations in the products in the marketplace for creating and managing learning, talent, and performance.
“These excellent tools and systems are the cutting edge of learning technology,” said Tom Werner, chief research officer and director of the Awards program. “They really change for the better how people learn in the workplace.”

SH!FT Automates Scenario-Based Learning.
Toronto, Canada – November 10, 2010 – Scenario based learning allows educators to engage students in the eLearning environment creating an enriched and ingrained learning experience.
Aura Interactiva and MindMuze announced the release of the Scenario Builder as part of their award-winning SH!FT eLearning authoring technology. Aura Interactiva, based in San Jose, Costa Rica and MindMuze, based in Toronto, Canada have partnered in the distribution of SH!FT in North America.
“We continue to listen to global educators and instructional design professionals, so that we can help deliver unprecedented efficiencies in eLearning authoring. The Scenario Builder is a whole new way of creating eLearning that boosts engagement and retention with animation, image and sound,” said Rick Beaudry, CEO, MindMuze. “Our goal is to provide corporations, governments and schools with the most efficient platform in the building of complex eLearning interactions,” Beaudry added.
Randolf Kissling, CEO, Aura Interactiva, commented, “With the Scenario Builder, trainers and educators with zero graphic design or programming skills can create complex learning scenarios that can be delivered to students in minutes.”
Traditionally, producing eLearning programs has been a time-consuming, expensive task that involves a team of instructional designers, graphic designers and developers. SH!FT has removed the need to be technical and transferred the power of creating rich eLearning content to the educator. Now, anyone is able create the ultimate eLearning environment.

Our new web-based authoring system is a blast!
We here at MindMuze we are really excited about a new web-based authoring system called Shift being added to our repertoire of tools. It represents a real departure from the traditional client-based applications because it allows anyone to create an eLearning course. And I mean anyone! Basically, if you can use Powerpoint, you can use Shift.
It really is an amazing piece of technology. It lets you create completely professional content. You can create drafts, and reviewers can add comments right in the learning materials, where they can be aggregated with other comments. It can therefore be as collaborative and interactive as you like. It also includes a powerful gallery of content templates that cover everything from straightforward presentations to complex scenarios and software simulations.
We recently used Shift to put together a special H1N1 awareness package. Our clients were stunned by how quickly we were able to put it together — it went online during the first wave of news reports, when people were only just hearing of H1N1 and few people yet knew what to do about it. As a public service, we quickly began offering the course as a free download (it’s still available), all thanks to this amazing system.
And if we were able to rush together an eLearning course of such importance in so short a time, imagine how easily it will be for anyone to create similar packages in response to frequently asked questions, even if those questions are constantly changing.
Shift will be officially launched very soon. Having worked with it myself, I can tell you this will be a huge, potentially game-changing event. Stay tuned!
